On behalf of the City of Brewster and the Upper Columbia Derby Fund, we want to welcome you once again to Brewster, WA area and say thank you for choosing to be a part of our Annual Brewster King Salmon Derby. We know you enjoy the great fishing we have here where the Columbia and Okanogan Rivers meet. The salmon run is going well and we are sure you will again have plenty of opportunities to catch the wining fish. We will be giving away lots of cash and prizes as always! NEW THIS YEAR: We are now a member of the NW Salmon Derby Series http://www.nwsalmonderbyseries.com which has a total of 15 Derby memberships. Your entry into our Derby also enters you into the Grand Prize Drawing the First Weekend in November each year. The Grand Prize is a $65,000 KingFisher 2025 Falcon Series boat powered with a Honda 150hp and 9.9hp trolling motors on an EZ-loader galvanized trailer. The fully-rigged boat comes with Scotty downriggers; Raymarine electronics; a custom WhoDat Tower; and a Dual Electronic Stereo. Last year's winning entry came from "The Big One Salmon Derby" on Lake Coeur d'Alene. We have included, in the Derby Rules, all the information about our new membership and how to "opt out" if you desire.
Up River Fishing Boundary has changed to the Corps of Engineers Safety Zone Marker just above the Bridgeport Bridge. “Fishing from a floating device prohibited downstream of Chief Joseph Dam from the boundary marker to the Corps of Engineers safety zone marker.” (2017-18 Regulations). Fishing from Shore Upstream of the Bridgeport Bridge is Prohibited. This section of the river is challenging with rocks, bridge supports and fast moving water, fish with care and caution.

PLEASE REMEMBER THE CAPTAIN NAME YOU CREATED AT REGISTRATION!. Your wristbands, tickets and flags will be filed under the Captain Name for pick up on Thursday Evening.
Kid's Sockeye Derby – was added last year to encourage more young fishermen. Each participant can weigh only 1 sockeye per day (so pick your best one) and we will now have a cash prizes for the top 5 sockeye weights. NOTE: Sockeye Derby and Sockeye Sidepots are always dependent on WDFW keeping the Sockeye Season Open during the Derby.
Ticket Prices – Adult (age 15 and up) - $50, Youth (age 9-14) $20, Child (age 8 and under) – Free. Brown Paper Tickets charges a small processing fee in addition to our prices.
Weigh Station Hours – Friday and Saturday 10 am – 12:30 pm & 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm, Sunday 9 am – 12:30 pm
As in the past Online Ticket Sales will open on March 1, 2017. Online ticket sales will close on Monday, July 31st at Midnight. Be sure to get your tickets early because, as in the past, there are only 275 tickets available.
Brewster offers several places to eat, a full service grocery and one motel. Camperos offers excellent Mexican cuisine, Subway, a Deli and Champion Chicken are inside Brewster Market Place. McDonald's and The Triangle offer food along Hwy 97, and our one motel, Apple Motel is on the highway as well.

Dry Camping, with no fee, is available in the soccer field parking lot adjacent to the boat launch area. Spaces along the curb side of the park are reserved RV spaces, no parking unless you have a reserved spot.

“To provide family oriented fishing events and recreation to promote tourism, the city of Brewster and community and the upper Columbia salmon fishery. Goals of the funds created from the Derby are to support other 501c3 charitable organizations in the Brewster and upper Columbia river community and other worthy IRS designated charitable organizations.”
“All Funds, whether income of principal, and whether acquired by gift or contribution or otherwise, shall be devoted to said purposes.”
The Upper Columbia Derby Fund is a 501(c)3 Non Profit Public Charity formed in the State of Washington, UBI 603-484-659. Donations are Tax Deductible to the extent allowed by law.
