The 2017 12th Annual Brewster King Salmon Derby!!
On behalf of the City of Brewster and the Upper Columbia Derby Fund, we want to welcome you once again to Brewster, WA area and say thank you for choosing to be a part of our Annual Brewster King Salmon Derby. We know you enjoy the great fishing we have here where the Columbia and Okanogan Rivers meet. The salmon run is going well and we are sure you will again have plenty of opportunities to catch the wining fish. We will be giving away lots of cash and prizes as always! We Strongly Encourage you to use online registration. We are a volunteer non-profit and it simplifies the registraion paperwork process for us!! Just click on Registration and Tickets. All ticket sales need to show the fisherman's age.
Before entering the Registration site, all fishermen on the same boat will need to decide on a “Captain Name”. As in the past, flags, wristbands and tickets, will be in one bag and filed under the Captain’s name. If you are fishing alone, use your last name for the Captain’s Name.
King of the Pool – This year we have added the $2,000 King of the Pool, which is open to all ages. If you are lucky enough to win, the next largest King Salmon in your age category takes 1st place…You Cannot Win Twice.
2 Pole Endorsement – The Exception to Rule 2. Two pole endorsements will NOW BE ALLOWED. “One person-one pole only” has been removed from Rule 2. However, all contestants must still adhere to all Washington State laws and WDFW regulations. JIGGING WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.
Kid's Sockeye Derby – We have added a Sockeye prize for the Youth/Child divisions to encourage more young fishermen. Each participant can weigh only 1 sockeye per day (so pick your best one) and the price for the top three is $500/$350/$150.
Ticket Prices – Adult (age 15 and up) - $50, Youth (age 9-14) $20, Child (age 8 and under) – Free. Brown Paper Tickets charges a small processing fee in addition to our prices.
Weigh Station Hours – Friday and Saturday 10 am – 12:30 pm & 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm, Sunday 9 am – 12:30 pm
Sidepot Payouts – Prize will be 75% of total amount collected for each prize category
As in the past Online Ticket Sales will open on March 1, 2017. Online ticket sales will close on Monday, July 31st at Midnight. Be sure to get your tickets early because, as in the past, there are only 275 tickets available.
Brewster offers several places to eat, a full service grocery and one motel. Camperos offers excellent Mexican cuisine, Subway, a Deli and Champion Chicken are inside Brewster Market Place. McDonald's and The Triangle offer food along Hwy 97, and our one motel, Apple Motel is on the highway as well.

Dry Camping, with no fee, is available in the soccer field parking lot adjacent to the boat launch area. Spaces along the curb side of the park are reserved RV spaces, no parking unless you have a reserved spot.

“To provide family oriented fishing events and recreation to promote tourism, the city of Brewster and community and the upper Columbia salmon fishery. Goals of the funds created from the Derby are to support other 501c3 charitable organizations in the Brewster and upper Columbia river community and other worthy IRS designated charitable organizations.”
“All Funds, whether income of principal, and whether acquired by gift or contribution or otherwise, shall be devoted to said purposes.”
